This group of 15 islands located about 7 miles off Iceland's south coast is home to 4,300 people and millions of seabirds. Start with a half-hour flight to the main island, Heimaey, for a guided bus tour of towering cliffs and a volcanic crater formed during the 1973 eruption. (You might even feel volcanic heat still rising from the ground!) See gardens, bird life and many treasures in this special corner of Iceland. Afterwards there is free time to wander around the island and town on your own.

$355 per person. Between June 1 and Aug 30, 2008 (weather permitting). After your sightseeing, board a boat for a spectacular seaside view of the islands and experience the fascinating sounds of live music echoing in a sea cave. (Tour is still 8 hours in length and departs with 9:00am flight from Reykjavik). Hint: bring binoculars for bird watching.
