Experience the wonders of Northern Iceland in one day! Fly to Akureyri, a colorful town set in a magnificent fjord. Start with a visit to Godafoss, Iceland’s Waterfall of the Gods. Next spend some time in the Myvatn area for its varied bird life, "pseudo craters," towering volcanic peaks and primordial bubbling mud pits. After a lunch stop (not included), board an unguided tour bus to Husavik, a town famous for its whale watching. A carefully renovated, traditional boat from 1963 takes you into the harbor in search of dolphins and whales (sightings not guaranteed, but sighting rate is over 98%). Unguided transfer back to Akureyri and your flight to Reykjavik.
Hint: Wear warm clothing with windproof outerwear and waterproof walking shoes. Please bring binoculars.
