Departure Day:
Depart from North America on evening flight (all gateways) or afternoon flight (Boston or New York).
Complimentary snacks, soft drinks and in-seat entertainment system during flight.  Meals, headsets and blankets available for purchase or provide your own.

Day 1- Keflavik Airport- Reykjavik
Once you have collected your luggage, proceed through Customs. The Fly Bus transfer bus is waiting at the curb to take you to your hotel. Please check with the hotel regarding a
packet of information that the tour operator will leave at the front desk. (No meals today)

Day 2: Reykjavik- Thingvellir-Gnupverjahreppur
Breakfast at your hotel. Tour pick up between 8:30am and 9am from your hotel. Transfer from Reykjavik to Fossnes farm. En route stop to admire the beauty of Thingvellir National Park, site of the world's oldest Parliament dating back to Viking Days. This is also where the North American and European tectonic plates meet, so you literally travel between continents! At friendly Fossnes farm you'll learn how to saddle and ride Icelandic horses. Start your journey on pleasant riding trails, exploring the colorful Gnupverjahreppur countryside. During the ride, enjoy the view of deep green mountains and valleys and the silver beauty of the mighty glacial river, Thjorsa. Relax in a geothermal hot tub
before having a hearty country dinner at Fossnes Farm. (B,PL,D)

Day 3: Fossnes - Hvitardalur - Fossnes
After breakfast, saddle up and head over fertile farmlands to the neighboring farm district of Hrunamannahreppur. Your guides will bring along some spare horses on lead ropes so that you can change horses a couple of times during the day so the group can travel at a comfortable speed. Cross the famous fishing river Stora Lax-a (The Big Salmon River) and enjoy a picnic lunch at Hrunarettir, a special pen used during the autumn sheep round-ups. Continue to Hvitardalur farm where the horses stay the night. Your group spends another night with another delicious meal at Fossnes Farm. (Riding distance: 25 miles) (B,PL,D)

Day 4: Fossnes - Hvitardalur - Gullfoss - Hotel Geysir
After breakfast, head to Hvitardalur horses and saddle up! Continue riding on soft paths ideal for tolting your horse. Head to the gigantic canyon Bruarhlod where milky green glacial water passes through bizarre rock formations. Ride along the Hvita (White River) to impressive Gullfoss waterfall, one of the most beautiful cascades in Iceland. Continue to Geysir hot spring area where you will stay for two nights. You will have plenty time to explore this highly interesting area with its many bubbling springs and primordial, colorful boiling mud pots. You will stay the next two nights at the simple yet welcoming and cozy Hotel Geysir. It's a great place to enjoy a delicious dinner and relax in the beautiful ambience of South Iceland.

Day 5: Geysir - Haukadalur- Haukdalsheidi - Geysir
Today will take you through Haukadalur (Hawk Valley) with its beautiful birch forest. Cross clear little streams on the way and enjoy the rich variety of wild mountain flowers that bloom in the long summer daylight. As your horses ascend toward a highland plateau enjoy seeing how the plants change as you reach higher ground. When you reach the top of Haukadalsheidi plateau

over a world of mountain ranges and glaciers that make up Iceland's highland wilderness. Your ride will take you back to Hotel Geysir for the next night. (Riding Distance: 10 miles) (B,PL, D)

Day 6: Geysir- Reykjavik
Take a bus in the morning to Reykjavik. Drop off at your hotel in Reykjavik around 11am. Rest of the day is open for you to enjoy Iceland's capital city.(B)

Day 7: Departure to North America
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer via Fly Bus to the Keflavik airport in time for morning or late afternoon Icelandair departure to North America. Complimentary snacks, soft drinks and in-seat entertainment system during flight.  Meals, headsets and blankets available for purchase or provide your own. (B).
