Icelandair Turns Pink Today

October is breast cancer awareness month. This marks the eight year that October has been the focus of an awareness campaign in Iceland. The campaign in Iceland is part of an international awareness campaign that was started by Estée Lauder. The pink ribbon is the symbol of the awareness campaign. Icelandair is proud to support this campaign and therefore, we have turned pink for the day.

“With more than half of its staff women, this is an important issue for Icelandair,” said Jon Karl Olafsson CEO of Icelandair. “We want to take this opportunity to show our support for breast cancer awareness month and to urge our customers and staff to show their support,” continued Jon Karl.

But it’s not just the website that’s turning pink. Icelandair staff will be wearing pink today as they show their support. All of the Icelandair crew will be wearing the pink ribbon today and all Icelandair staff will be urged to participate in today events by attending awareness lectures hosted at the Icelandair Head Office. Furthermore, a team of women from Icelandair will be participating in the Avon walk in New York later this month. We urge everyone to participate today. Wear the ribbon and contribute to your local breast cancer prevention fund.
