What have we done to reduce our carbon footprint?
In recent years, numerous changes have been made to Icelandair’s operations in order to reduce CO2 emissions. These include efforts to minimize fuel consumption during approach and landing and the introduction of winglets that reduce drag, allowing us to reduce the amount of fuel needed to power our flights.
Since 2019, we have offered passengers the option to take part in reducing their carbon footprint, in co-operation with Kolvidur. On this page, they could calculate their emissions to determine the amount needed.
Major developments have taken place in recent years in relation to carbon offsetting and carbon capturing. We have therefore introduced a new and more accessible solution for carbon compensation, in cooperation with our partner Chooose, which helps you to better understand the estimated carbon emissions of your flight and allows you to support impactful climate solutions around the world.
