A new partnership: Icelandair and Air China
At Icelandair, we're always looking for new ways to deliver more and better travel opportunities to you. We're delighted to announce a new codeshare agreement between Icelandair and Air China, which brings new connections and easier access to exciting destinations.
Air China and Icelandair sign a codeshare agreement
Icelandair and Air China have signed a codeshare agreement that will significantly strengthen connectivity between Iceland and China.
By creating seamless connections between their route networks, the two airlines will make it easier for customers to reach more destinations on a single ticket, with baggage checked through to their final destination.
Air China, established in 1988, is China's national flag carrier. It's based in Beijing and operates a fleet of 972 aircraft across an extensive route network.
Bogi Nils Bogason, Icelandair President and CEO:
“Our partnership with Air China is an important step in strengthening our route network and expanding our network of partner airlines. China is one of the world's most important aviation markets. This agreement lets us offer our customers better connections to many destinations there, while giving Air China's passengers easier access to Iceland.”
Qu Guangji, President of China National Aviation Holding Corporation Limited and Air China Limited:
“The Beijing–Reykjavik route, launched by Air China as schedule, is not only China's first, but also currently the only scheduled passenger route connecting East Asia and Southeast Asia directly with Iceland. The codeshare cooperation between Air China and Icelandair will provide passengers of both countries with more convenient travel options, further enhancing the connectivity between the two countries' aviation networks.”
