Iceland Airwaves is proud to announce that Sigur Rós will be returning to the Iceland Airwaves festival for the first time in 11 years with a special performance. Sigur Ros first performed at the inaugural Iceland Airwaves after coming to international prominence with their album 'Ágætis Byrjun'.
This year’s performance will be their first in their hometown of Reykjavik in four years and will close the festival. It will take place on Sunday, November 4 at the new Laugardalshöll Arena. It will be a welcome homecoming after a summer and autumn worldwide festival run, and is set to feature an expanded 11-piece line-up. The show will feature material from their entire catalogue, including the forthcoming sixth studio album, 'Valtari'.
Tickets for the Sigur Rós special performance at Iceland Airwaves go on sale Wednesday, May 16 at 12 noon GMT via Icelandair Holidays. They will be available at the special low price of 19 GBP to anyone who purchases Iceland Airwaves package on a first-come-first-served basis until June 16. General admission tickets for other Icelandair Holidays package customers will be available at 35 GBP.
