Iceland Airwaves music festival takes place 06. - 09. November 2019, featuring Of Monsters and Men in their first appearance at the festival since 2010, plus Mac DeMarco, John Grant, Whitney, Shame, Vök, Hatari, Mammút, Ólöf Arnalds, JFDR, Blanco White, Biggi Veira ( GusGus DJ set) and many more.
AWAL’s partnership with Icelandair will include an “A World Artists Love” showcase at Iðnó on November 8 at 8pm and will feature performances from Millie Turner (UK), Joesef (UK), Yaeger (Sweden), Warmland (Iceland), Jóipé x Króli (Iceland) and more. During the festival, showcase artists will take over the Icelandair Instagram to provide behind-the-scenes access to the festival and performances.
Iceland Airwaves has come a long way since its inception in an airplane hangar at Reykjavik airport. Nowadays the festival is regarded as the biggest celebration of music in Iceland and boasts an unrivalled line-up of established and up-and-coming artists. From concerts in tiny record stores and art museums to cool bars and beautiful churches, Airwaves-goers can expect to soak up the festival atmosphere in some of the city's most unique venues located closely throughout the capital´s historical downtown.
