You’ve flown to Iceland, walked through the capital city, hiked a glacier and enjoyed a dip or two in the geothermal pools, but the adventure does NOT end there!
Picture yourself not just seeing, but adventuring through the vast, surreal and often moon-like landscape of Iceland in the safety of a four-wheel drive buggy. With this thrilling 1-hour ride, you’ll explore hills, sands, rivers and streams, all via the gravel and mud roads of the rugged landscape under Mt. Esja, easily seen from Reykjavík harbour across the Faxaflói bay.
This tour is run by the first and largest buggy operator in Iceland, fully licensed by the Icelandic tourist board.
What is a buggy? Perhaps more commonly referred to as an ATV, a buggy is essentially a small motor vehicle with an open top. All buggies come with automatic transmission, plus 4-point seat belts and certified roll-cage to protect passengers in the very unlikely chance of a roll-over.
Can I ride? Buggy rides are great for everyone, male or female, young or old. However, buggies are small, so those over 6 ft (190 cm) tall may find them to be a tight squeeze and possibly uncomfortable. Those under 4 ft. 11 in. may have a problem seeing over the windshield, restricting them from operating the buggy.
What do I bring? Warm clothes, plus an extra set of warm clothes in case you get wet! Waterproof shoes and warm socks are also strongly recommended. Clothing should be preferably wool or synthetic materials as cotton and jean materials will keep the cold in.
Personal travel insurance is not included and is highly recommended.
