Head along the magnificent south coast of Iceland, an area of mountain passes, black sand beaches and magical waterfalls. You'll pass by Skaftafell National Park and catch a glimpse of Iceland's highest mountain, Oraefajokull, and then it won't be long until you know you're in glacier country when driving across a huge black sand plain created by the melt of glacier floods during the annual spring season. Next visit the stunning Jokulsarlon, the Glacial Lagoon. Board special land and water boats for a sail that takes you through this stunning setting of enormous icebergs from Vatnajokull, Europe's largest glacier. After this refreshing excursion, head back to Reykjavik, enjoying the scenic countryside on your drive west.
Please note: Departures from October 1 - 31 do not include boat tours due to the amount of ice in the lagoon.
