This four-night package gives you the opportunity to combine a visit to Reykjavík and the charming town of Akureyri, located on a stunning fjord only a 45-minute flight from the capital. Akureyri provides an excellent base for winter recreational activities such as downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, horse trekking, Super Jeep excursions and ice skating. 

North Iceland is a land of amazing adventures, offering diverse options for those who want to combine relaxation with fun and excitement in a veritable paradise of nature. There are countless opportunities for outdoor activities to suit everyone's taste, including the Lake Mývatn area, by many considered the most beautiful place in Iceland. Highlights include the mystic Dimmuborgir (Dark Cities) full of lava-pillars and formations that are rich of mystic sagas and tales, Námaskarð pass with sulfurous mud pools and steam springs, Krafla volcano, pseudo-craters of Skútustaðir and of course Mývatn Nature Baths with its natural pool of geothermal water based in the middle of lava fields with a great view over Mývatn area.

Jour1

Are you excited to visit Iceland? Time to board your Icelandair flight for the overnight to our hub at Keflavík International Airport! Keep your eyes peeled in the winter as you just may see the northern lights dancing beside you!

Jour2

Welcome to Iceland! Transfer on your own to Reykjavík (Flybus airport transfers are available to book with the package during the booking process) and check in to your hotel, Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Natura. The day and evening are yours to rest and enjoy at your leisure. Why not book access to the in-house Natura Spa with a swimming pool, sauna, hot tubs and relaxing area?

Jour3

Grab a taxi for the 5-minute drive to Reykjavík domestic airport for your 45-minute flight to the capital of North Iceland, Akureyri. On arrival, take a taxi to Icelandair Hotel Akureyri and be sure to visit the bar for your complimentary welcome drink of a small draft beer or glass of house wine. You'll also receive 10% discount of food at Aurora Restaurant situated at the hotel.

Enjoy the afternoon in Akureyri. With your complimentary entry you can venture to the amazing geothermal pool located next to your hotel. Swimming pools are a staple of Icelandic daily life, so go native and enjoy a swim, a soak in the hot tubs or a steam!

The Northern Lights tour starts at 21:30 with pick-up from your hotel at 21:15 hours. Based on the weather conditions, your tour guide will choose the area in the countryside where you’re most likely to see the Aurora Borealis with its spectacular displays of colour, light and texture. Please Note: The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. You can re-book your Northern Lights tour the following night at no extra cost if the tour was operated but no sightings occurred.

Jour4

Enjoy the day in Akureyri, a town of charming buildings cradled within the magnificent Eyjafjörður fjord. Though small in size, Akureyri is vibrant and lively, offering gourmet dining, galleries, outdoor cafes and pubs. The year-round botanical gardens are an interesting feature, as well as the splendid spa-like geothermal swimming pool. If you are into skiing, you can hit the magnificent slopes at the Hlíðarfjall ski area in town. Or you might want to book a day tour to the beautiful Mývatn area with volcanic craters, mud pots and lava fields. There is even scuba diving available. Just ask at the hotel for more details.

Jour5

In the morning, self-transfer to the domestic airport in Akureyri for your flight back to Reykjavík and your final night stay at Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Natura. Popular activities include horse riding in the nearby lava fields, a visit to the Blue Lagoon or whale watching from Reykjavík harbour. These and other tours and activities are available as add-ons to this package.

Jour6

Transfer to Keflavík Airport for your flight home on Icelandair. Flybus airport transfers are available to book with the package during the booking process.
