Latest travel information

Through travel we connect people and places, and connections are more important now than ever. We know you have questions, so we’ve prepared a list of answers to help you plan.

Book now, change later

We understand these are uncertain times, but we don't want you to stop making travel plans. If you are considering booking a new ticket, we offer you the peace of mind of being able to change your flight at a later date.

If you book your ticket on or before December 31, 2020, with a departure date up to and including December 31, 2021, you have the option to change your booking.

To change your ticket and not incur a change fee, your new travel period must be completed by December 31, 2021.

This policy applies under the following conditions:

  • Fare differences may apply.
  • Your original ticket is valid for 12 months from the purchase date. You must complete travel within that time period.

Extra peace of mind for travels to Iceland

We want to provide extra peace of mind for passengers who might test positive for COVID-19 in Iceland.

We will rebook a passenger for their return home, free of charge, after they have served the mandatory self-isolation period. This applies if a positive result is returned for the COVID-19 test administered upon arrival at Keflavík airport, or the second test 4-6 days after arrival (where applicable).

For more information on official procedures if a test returns a positive result, see the covid.is website published by the Icelandic authorities.

Terms and conditions:

  • Only passengers holding a round-trip ticket with Icelandair are eligible.
  • The passenger must present Icelandair with a certificate of COVID-19 test results issued by the Icelandic health authorities.
  • Other passengers in the same booking may also avail of the free rebooking upon request.
  • In the case of group bookings with more than 9 passengers, only passengers who are diagnosed with COVID-19 and their immediate family members (children, parents, partner) may avail of the free rebooking policy and not other passengers.

Where can you fly from?

The rules of travel are fast-changing, with governments taking necessary precautions. See our Visiting Iceland FAQ for more information on who can visit Iceland and the entry requirements (such as testing, quarantine and pre-registration). Note that passport-holders from the Schengen area and UK are welcome, but due to Schengen regulations we are unable to welcome US and Canadian passport-holders.

Please check our flight schedule for up-to-date information on where we are flying from.
