Jour1

Welcome to Iceland! Transfer on your own to Reykjavík and check in to your hotel. We recommend Flybus airport transfers, which are available to purchase with the package during the booking process. The day and evening are yours to rest and enjoy at your leisure.

Jour2

Today you’ll visit the fascinating Northern Lights Centre in Reykjavík for an exciting and informative presentation on the Northern Lights, then head to Thingvellir National Park (UNESCO) where the world's oldest parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland's largest lake. You’ll also visit the geothermal fields of Geysir with bubbling mud pools, the high-spouting Strokkur hot spring, the dramatic two-tiered Gullfoss waterfall, a spectacular sight in winter when frozen mid-cascade, and Skálholt, Iceland's capital during the Middle-Ages and now a culture centre with a beautiful church. During the day you will also visit Laugarvatnshellir cave where two Icelandic families built a cozy homestead and farm during the early 20th century. Dinner and overnight in the south coast area.

Jour3

You’ll start the day with a drive along the south shore, passing by local farms that are often populated with the legendary Icelandic horses. Your first stop will be at the new Lava Centre, an interactive, high-tech educational exhibition depicting volcanic activity, earthquakes and the creation of Iceland over millions of years. Up next are visits to the spectacular waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, then passing by Mýrdalsjökull Glacier on the way to Reynisfjara beach to enjoy a walk on the black sands and extraordinary rock formations of Vík. Dinner and overnight stay in Kirkjubæjarklaustur area.

Jour4

Today your tour group will drive through vast sand plains created by glacial outwashes as you head east to the southern area of Vatnajökull National Park, the largest in Western Europe and named after Europe's largest glacier. Then you’ll journey to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon for a breath-taking sight of icebergs floating in the deep glacial lagoon. Next, view Svínafellsjökull, one of the most beautiful of the glacial outlets emerging from Vatnajökull, and Skaftafell, a site of outstanding natural beauty dominated by Vatnajökull glacier. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Jour5

Head towards the village of Hveragerði, one of the few sites in the world located directly in the middle of a geothermal area and often called 'The Flower Village' because of its many greenhouses heated by nearby hot springs. Follow along the coastline and its breath-taking waves to the Reykjanes peninsula where you can enjoy a dip in the famous Blue Lagoon, a unique wonder of nature with pleasantly warm mineral rich geothermal water in the middle of a black lava field. Return to Reykjavík where the evening is at your own leisure.

Jour6

Transfer to Keflavík Airport for your flight home on Icelandair. Flybus airport transfers are available to book with the package during the booking process.
