Saga Points for Regular Fares Terms and Conditions
Using Saga Points for regular fares
Using Saga Points for regular fares allows members to pay for fare, fuel, taxes, fees, charges and air transportation charges to all scheduled Icelandair destinations, either in full or with a mix of Saga Points and other forms of payment. Fares paid with Saga Points, partially or in full, follow the same fare conditions as regular fares.
Icelandair Vacation Packages, group travel and bookings to partner airline destinations (interline and codeshare bookings) are not available with this payment option. However, Saga Club Gift Certificates can be redeemed for Icelandair Vacation Packages and group travel. Icelandair reserves the right to exclude certain flights, classes and destinations from eligibility at any time.
The lowest amount of Saga Points members can use may vary between markets. There is no maximum amount of Saga Points that can be used for fare, fuel, taxes, fees, charges and air transportation charges. Other services and flight extras are not payable with Saga Points.
The value of the Saga Points varies and is subject to change. The amount of Saga Points quoted in the booking engine are only valid at the time quoted. The amount of Saga Points stated at time of booking is estimated and is subject to change based on currency exchange rates at the time of ticketing. However, the amount of Saga Points redeemed will never exceed the points amount you selected and will not affect the amount charged on the credit card.
Note that these terms do not apply to Award fares.
Saga Club members earn both Saga Points and Card Points for flights paid with Saga Points, regardless of the number of Saga Points redeemed. Points earning is in accordance with Icelandair Earn Points table.
Flight extras and optional services
Flight extras and optional services, such as cancellation protection, extra baggage allowance and pre-purchased meals are not available for Saga Points, but can be paid with other forms of payment.
Changes to bookings paid with Saga Points can be made in accordance with the applicable fare conditions and these terms. Any payment associated with changes to bookings paid with Saga Points, e.g. fare difference, taxes and fees, cannot be made with Saga Points, but can be made with other forms of payment.
Bookings paid with Saga Points can be upgraded with Saga Points between Economy Flex to Economy Comfort and from Economy Comfort to Saga Class. Read more about upgrades between travel classes for Saga Points.
Upgrades between other classes need to be paid with other forms of payment. More information on www.icelandair.com.
Cancellations and refunds

- If a refund is lower or equal to the monetary payment of the flight ticket then the entire refund amount is refunded into the member’s accepted credit card.
- If a refund is higher than the monetary payment of the flight ticket, then the entire monetary payment is refunded and the rest is refunded in Saga Points.
