Here’s the thing about photography in Iceland: you don’t need to be good at it. You just need to show up. Book your flight to Iceland and let the landscapes do the work.
Our unique photography experiment is going live! On June 25, Icelandair launches a new social series: The diary of a really bad photographer.
The series will take you on the road around Iceland with quite possibly the world’s worst photographer. Why? We want to prove that even the worst photographer can take great photos of Iceland.
Blanche, our really bad photographer, will travel the country attempting to capture some of the most photogenic places on Earth. Will Iceland do all the heavy lifting? Or will Blanche manage to out-chaos the landscape? Either way, we invite you to come along for the ride.

In April 2026, we invited the public to nominate the worst photographers they knew (including themselves). The response was… generous. 127,642 applications, and a mountain of truly questionable imagery.
After 2,000+ hours of screening and interviews, we found our match: Blanche Montemard from Paris. Now we’re putting Blanche’s (lack of) skills to the test on the road in Iceland.
