Vanier Park and Stanley Park
To the south of Chinatown, further culinary experiences await you at the Granville Island Public Market. If it’s crowded, you can always take your meal alfresco in the nearby Vanier Park. The park is home to the Museum of Vancouver, which hosts exhibitions on various aspects of the city’s history. Walk across the park, towards the shores of English Bay, and you will find the Vancouver Maritime Museum and Vancouver’s Seawall, a cycling path which stretches all the way to downtown.
Follow this route and you’ll eventually find yourself in Stanley Park, a large and eclectic outdoor area, a green space which has been developed and added to for over a hundred years. Adjacent to the park lies the West End, an excellent area for shopping and dining. And should you want an overview of the city and the surrounding Strait of Georgia, head north and hitch a ride with a cable car up Grouse Mountain.
