One of the perks of booking your flight directly with us – on our website or through our customer center – is that you can request the seat of your choice.
Economy fares
Seat selection in the rear area of the cabin is included for Economy Standard tickets, while all three cabin areas (front, center, rear) are included for Economy Flex.
Economy Standard passengers must pay for seats in the front and center areas.
Seat selection is not included for Economy Light tickets. You will be assigned a seat free of charge. However, you can select your preferred seat anywhere in the cabin, for a fee.
Saga fares
Seat selection is included for Saga Premium and Saga Premium Flex tickets.
The price varies according to fare type and route. You pay per flight leg.
Have you not booked the flight yet? The prices for seat selection are displayed during the booking process.
Do you already have a booking? Go to My Journey to find the prices for selecting a seat.
If you cannot select seats during the booking process, it doesn't imply the flight is full. It simply means that the remaining seats will be assigned at the airport. If you've paid for your flight, you're assured a seat on board.
Please note: If your journey involves multiple airlines, you might not be able to select your seats during the booking process. In such cases, your seat will be allocated to you at the airport.
You can select your preferred seat directly when you check in. Online check-in is available 24 hours prior to departure for all destinations operated by Icelandair.
We will do everything possible to fulfill your seat request. However, we cannot give any guarantees to that end.
