Venice Marco Polo Airport (also known as Venezia Airport) is located on the mainland near the village of Tessera, about 9km (6 miles) northeast of Venice city center. To get to the city from the airport, you can take a bus to Piazzale Roma for a quick and affordable land transfer, or use the water bus options or a water taxi for a ride directly into the city's waterways – the latter is a more scenic option, but more expensive.
