Iceland is a year-round destination, but the winter months bring their own sort of magic!
Iceland's Northern Lights season from late August to mid-April is not only the best time to hunt for sightings of this jaw-dropping, natural phenomenon, it's also an ideal time to soak in the warm, soothing waters of the Blue Lagoon, made even more marvelous when it's snowing outside! This plus the festivals, cultural events and lively nightlife of Reykjavík give you all the ingredients for a fantastic getaway!
This Icelandair vacation package, one of our most popular, gives you time for all these memorable experiences, and if you choose to book additional nights (up to seven allowed with this package), you'll be able to explore with our other unforgettable day tours!
Personal travel insurance is not included and is highly recommended. It can be arranged through Allianz Global Assistance for passengers originating in the United States and Canada.

Are you excited to visit Iceland? Time to board your Icelandair flight for the overnight to our hub at Keflavík International Airport! Keep your eyes peeled in the winter as you just may see the northern lights dancing beside you!
Check in at your hotel in Reykjavík and get comfortable for your stay in Iceland. Check-in times range between 2 - 3pm, however hotels generally can store your bags while you take a stroll and explore the charm and allure of Old Town Reykjavík and enjoy the Nordic vibe of the world’s northernmost capital. There's plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from for a bite to eat. Check out one of the many tours available for booking, including whale watching and horse riding.
Spend the day at your leisure. In the evening you will sail away from the coastline of Reykjavík with the Northern Lights by Boat tour. Searching for the Aurora Borealis out on the North-Atlantic Ocean with beautiful mountains and the city lights in the background is something you won't forget. An expert guide will tell you all about the Northern Lights, the folklore and superstition, as well as explaining the underlying scientific facts that make this magical light show possible. Warm overalls are available, since it does get chilly in the winter and usually much of the time is spent outside gazing at the night sky. A warm and cozy seating area with café/snack bar inside the boat is also available. Departures range from 9 to 10pm, depending on the time of year, with hotel pick-ups beginning at 60 minutes prior. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and their appearance cannot be guaranteed.
Today you'll visit the beautiful Blue Lagoon for some rest and relaxation. Cleanliness is a fundamental aspect of any geothermal spa experience and a full body shower is absolutely essential prior to entering the spa area. Open and private shower cubicles are available in both male and female changing rooms. Private lockers for your clothing and/or backpack are also included in the changing rooms. You can stay at the Blue Lagoon as long as you would like on that day, as return buses to hotels operate frequently and are included in the package.
It's time to head to Keflavik for your return flight home with Icelandair. We look forward to welcoming you onboard again soon!
