Our partner airlines

At Icelandair, we celebrate travel and strive to provide you with endless possibilities to see the world.

That’s why we partner with like-minded airlines that share our passion and commitment towards excellent customer experience and hospitality. We take pride in our ever-growing network of partnerships that enable us to connect Iceland with the world.

Codeshare partners

We have a codeshare co-operation with a diverse group of partner airlines. These agreements allow us to add the Icelandair code (FI) to flights which partner airlines operate, thereby enabling customers to fly further on a single Icelandair ticket.

Our codeshare agreement with Atlantic Airways strengthens connectivity between Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Atlantic Airways is the national carrier of the Faroe Islands, operating flights within the Nordic region and Europe. The codeshare flights are expected to be fully implemented in the first quarter 2025.

Our codeshare agreement with Air Greenland opens new doors for travelers seeking to explore the beauty of Greenland. This agreement strengthens connectivity across the Nordics and the Arctic. The codeshare flights are expected to be fully implemented in the middle of 2025.

Our codeshare agreement with TAP Air Portugal gives Icelandair's passengers access to TAP's extensive network of over 90 destinations around the world. TAP is Portugal's leading airline, flying since 1945. Its hub in Lisbon is a platform between Europe, the Americas, and Africa.

Our codeshare agreement with Emirates gives Icelandair's passengers in North America and Iceland access to the global metropolis of Dubai, Emirates' hub and home in the Middle East. From Dubai, Emirates serves over 130 destinations across six continents.

Our codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines provides seamless connections and enhances travel options for our customers. Icelandair passengers in North America and Iceland can connect in Europe to travel east via Turkish Airlines’ network to Istanbul. Turkish Airlines worldwide passengers can connect in Europe to travel west via Icelandair’s network to Iceland and Canada.

Our agreement with air Baltic complements Icelandair’s network with strong connectivity to the Baltics and Eastern Europe. Customers can fly between North America and the Baltics utilizing the strengths of our combined network, connecting in Iceland as well as Scandinavia.

Our codeshare agreement with Alaska Airlines extends the reach of our network across the west coast of the US and Canada. Our key gateways of Seattle and Portland connect with Alaska’s wide network to both small and large cities on the west coast. An added perk is mileage accrual and redemption on both airlines for Saga Club and Mileage Plan members.

Our bilateral codeshare agreement with Finnair gives our customers access to Finnair’s network from Helsinki within Europe. At the same time, customers from Asia on their way to Iceland can utilize the extended reach of our combined networks to connect to Iceland via Helsinki.

Our bilateral codeshare agreement with JetBlue gives our customers access to JetBlue's North American network out of New York, Boston, and Orlando. A valuable perk is mileage accrual on both airlines for Saga Club and TrueBlue members.

Our Scandinavian partner offers our customers access to SAS's strong network in the Nordics and beyond. The bilateral codeshare agreement extends Icelandair’s network through our key Nordic gateways of Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm where SAS has a strong presence with its hubs.

Future partners

In September 2024, Icelandair and Southwest Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate a bilateral partnership in 2025.

The partnership will allow customers to easily connect between the two airlines’ networks. Icelandair will become Southwest’s initial airline partner. Read more in our post about the agreement.

Interline partners

At Icelandair, we take pride in our association with over 70 interline partners, adding global reach to Icelandair’s network. Through close cooperation with partners, we ensure that Icelandair provides endless travel possibilities to our customers across the globe.

Interline partnerships are an agreement between airlines to coordinate passengers with an itinerary that uses multiple airlines. It means, for example, that a passenger may not need to check in again or deal with their baggage at the transfer airport, even when they are flying with different airlines in one journey.
