More flexibility, more comfort – come fly with us!

In May 2019, we will be adding new departure and arrival times for European and North American flights in our schedule, significantly expanding your selection of convenient flights.

From May next year, Icelandair will present a restructured route network to better serve our customers, by adding new departures from Keflavik Airport. That includes flights to selected cities in Europe at 10:30 in the morning and to selected cities in North-America at 20:00 in the evening. These departures are additions to current connecting times which are early in the morning and the afternoon. These changes are also related to the ongoing renewal of the Icelandair fleet of aircraft. The airline has already received three Boeing 737-MAX aircraft and will be welcoming additional six planes early next year. The new departure times are scheduled at considerably less busy hours at Leif Eiriksson Air Terminal in Keflavík, which means less waiting during check-in and security, and altogether more pleasant travel experience.

Sleep in and get better rest pre-flight

As aforementioned we will be offering flights to several major destinations in Europe, departing later in the morning than has been our schedule thus far, or around 10:30 AM. That will enable our customers to a few hours sleep longer and should contribute to a more pleasant flight, not to mention a more enjoyable stay at the destination. These departure times will be available towards Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Oslo, Paris. Stockholm and Zurich.

Make the day count

Icelandair will also increase the choice of available flights to North-America. Next year you can fly from Iceland to the USA and Canada in the evening, at 20:00, enabling you to make the most of your day, be it business or pleasure. This departure time will be available for flights to Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, Toronto, and Washington, DC.

Added reliability, less response time

At the same time next year, Icelandair will increase the number of our reserve aircraft at Keflavík Airport from 1 to 3 or more, which will enable us to react faster and better to incidental delays, ensuring that you reach your destination on time.
