Want to read about our new amenity kit in Icelandic? See here: Nýtt ferðasett í samstarfi við Ingu Elínu
In October 2025, we're proud to introduce a new amenity kit that embraces and celebrates Icelandic nature, working with renowned local artist and ceramicist Inga Elín. The cotton kit bags feature Inga Elín's beautiful designs, and we hope passengers will feel inspired to use them again and again.
As well as the reusable kit bags, the contents of the bag also incorporate a new approach to sustainability. We're introducing 'on demand' kits, with passengers able to select the products they want from our amenity kit menu. That way, we can better personalize our kits, and ensure less waste. Our goal is to bring passengers something beautiful and useful while minimizing our impact on nature.
Of course we aspire to make each passenger's flight more enjoyable, but we have broader ambitions as well: To bring the spirit of Iceland to each journey.
Starting at the early age of 12, Reykjavík-born-and-raised Inga Elín has dedicated her life to the world of ceramics for over half a century.
Inga found her love for working with clay at the Reykjavík School of Arts and followed her passion to the Icelandic Academy of Arts. She studied ceramics and glass at the Denmark Design School where she was received an award from Queen Margrethe for her exceptional graduation project, a collection of handblown glassware and porcelain cups.
Inga’s work reflects the deep contrasts of the Icelandic landscape; the soft and strong, the minimal and intricate, the practical and expressive. Her art is rooted in the natural world, where the elements speak their own language and each piece is a projection of the environment that surrounds her, from the strong northern winds to the calm creeks and waterfalls.
These elements are perhaps best embodied in Inga Elín's most beloved creation, the Veltibolli cup.
Having developed more than 200 patterns over the last four decades, Inga Elín unites function and beauty in the cup, showcasing her exceptional craftsmanship.
The same philosophy carries through her entire body of work, from playful sculptures to durable dinnerware which you may find at local restaurants in Iceland.
Inga Elín’s gallery is located on Reykjavík’s charming Rainbow Street, at Skólavörðustígur 5 downtown, set in a historic house dating back to 1881.
Inside, visitors are welcomed into her ever-evolving world of unique and distinctive works, each one thoughtfully made with care and passion.
With its rotating selection of limited pieces, the gallery offers a deeply personal and tactile experience, where no two visits are ever the same.

,Inga Elín's designs are inspired by the patterns of weather and water in Iceland. The first designs selected for the launch of the kits are called Lækur (Creek) and Bylur (Blizzard); future kits will feature Vindur (Wind) and Flæði (Flowing Water).
As well as the fresh designs for the cotton drawstring bags, which come in two sizes, the contents have been selected to help passengers arrive at their destination rested and refreshed.
Each kit bag may contain:
Our kits feature lip balm and hand cream from Verso Skincare, a Swedish brand with a strong Nordic approach. Their commitment to innovation and smart, science-based products is a match with Icelandair. Verso promotes sustainable skincare and has a focus on equality and diversity, and these are values we share.
,The complimentary amenity kits are given to Saga Premium and Saga Premium Flex passengers on all flights between Iceland and North America.
