Vacation Package Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms & conditions carefully before using this site and before any purchase is made. These are the terms & conditions that apply to your visit at this website and all transactions that you may make over the site now or at a later time.
All transactions over Icelandair's website are subject to the Terms & Conditions set out herein. For the purpose of these Terms & Conditions, a "website" shall mean information distributed or transmitted world-wide via Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP standard) over Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) net, also called the Internet.
All flights included in Icelandair Holidays vacation packages are with Icelandair in Economy Standard. Please see the full list of current gateways and destinations for further information.
The following applies to all Icelandair packages: Travel must be completed within dates indicated. Extra days available at additional cost and may be required based on departure date and gateway.Limited availability during school holidays and winter holiday season.
Each day of trip must be using hotels or cars booked through Icelandair prior to departure. Packages subject to availability and price change. No refund for unused portion of any package or service once travel has commenced. Package prices include fuel surcharge and booking fee. Other conditions may apply.
Changes or cancellations by customer
Once booked, package travel dates and hotels cannot be changed. All packages can be refunded with a $400 per person penalty up to 30 days before departure; nonrefundable 29 days or less before departure. Individual passengers in a multi-passenger booking who wish to cancel, are not eligible for a refund. Cancellation of a confirmed package will become effective the date Icelandair receives written notification of the passenger’s intention to cancel the reservation. Some packages may be non-refundable, so please note this at time of booking.
No refund for "no shows" or for any unused portion of any tour or service after travel has commenced. All refunds require a minimum of two weeks for processing, following written application.
Changes or cancellations by Icelandair Holidays
It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your booking after it has been confirmed. However, occasionally, changes occur, but most are minor, and you will be informed as soon as possible if there is time before your departure. If a holiday or tour is cancelled due to situations beyond our control or minimum numbers are not reached, we will refund the money you have paid or offer a similar holiday/tour, but no compensation will be paid, and we shall have no further liability to you.
If major changes are necessary, we will do all we can to tell you before departure. When major change occurs (such as flight time alterations of more than 12 hours or reduction in accommodation standards) you have the choice of accepting the change in arrangements or cancelling your holiday and receiving a full refund (excluding amendment fees). Compensation may be paid unless the reason for the cancellation or major change is for circumstances amounting to force majeure. Circumstances amounting to force majeure include but are not limited to war, the threat of war, riot, civil strike, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions, epidemic or pandemic illnesses.
Any excursions, tours or car hire arrangements that you may choose to book separately whilst in Iceland, are not part of the package holiday provided by Icelandair Holidays. In this case your contract will be with the excursion, tour or car hire provider. Icelandair Holidays will not be responsible for the provision of the excursion, tour or car hire, or for anything that happens during the course of its provision by the operator. Please note that flight times and airlines may be subject to change for operational reasons.
Concert and/or event tickets, including Iceland Airwaves passes, are 100% non-refundable from date of purchase.
24-hour cancellation and refund policy (US bookings only)
Recent Department of Transportation regulations permit customers who purchase an Icelandair air-inclusive package to cancel the booking within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund. Once the 24-hour window has passed, standard terms and conditions will apply.
DAY TOUR AND PACKAGE ADD-ON NOTES
Customers with accommodations at select properties have designated stops for pick-ups and drop-offs on tours inclusive of an accommodation transfer. These stops, authorized by the City of Reykjavik, are located throughout the downtown/old town/city center area of the city. Further information can be found via the official Bus Stop website from the City of Reykjavik . Tour operators will not pick up passengers from hotels outside of Reykjavik.
ADD-ON TOURS CANCELLATION AND CHANGE POLICY
Add-on tours/day excursions, including Flybus airport transfers are non-refundable once purchased, but may be changed to alternative add-on products of similar or higher value, subject to availability and administration fee. Tours included in vacation package offers are non-refundable and non-changeable.
Icelandair packages and land arrangements are bookable online. Additional fees may apply. Full payment is required at booking time. Documents are issued as electronic service information and tickets. Icelandair reserves the right to refuse any bookings within 30 days of departure.
All Icelandair Holidays vacation packages are booked in Economy Standard, unless noted otherwise.
Please view the Icelandair baggage rules for current information on both checked and carry-on baggage allowance, restrictions (including weight and dimensions), as well as lost, delayed or damaged baggage.
MULTI-DAY ESCORTED TOURS
Vacation packages include round-trip transatlantic air on Icelandair and tour per itinerary. Some escorted tours require a minimum number of passengers to operate. Passengers will be notified before departure if a tour is canceled and advised of alternatives. We cannot reimburse for non-refundable domestic carrier tickets purchased separately from package if a tour departure is canceled. Tour routes may be affected by weather and closures. If passengers with specific dietary needs or medical conditions inform us at booking time we will make the tour operators aware of these needs. Please be aware that Icelandair cannot be responsible if the tour operator cannot accommodate all special requests.
Trip cancellation due to health, weather, and other unpredictable events which are beyond Icelandair’s control, and baggage insurance are not covered by Icelandair. However, Icelandair recommends the purchase of such insurance through companies such as Allianz Global Assistance in the United States and Canada.
A valid U.S. or Canadian passport is required for U.S. and Canadian citizens who travel to all Icelandair destinations. U.S. and Canadian citizens do not need visas. Other nationals should contact the appropriate destination embassy for visa information. Icelandair cannot be held responsible and will not waive ticket reservations if passenger does not possess correct documentation at time of entry.
IMPORTANT TAX INFORMATION FOR AIR-INCLUSIVE PACKAGES
Air-inclusive package prices quoted include applicable taxes and official charges by destination of approximately $100-$400 per person, including the September 11th Security Fee (subject to change).
ICELANDAIR GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
Icelandair and/or its agents give notice that all tickets, vouchers, and coupons issued by
them and all arrangements for transport or conveyance or for hotel accommodations
and car rentals made by them are made by them as agents for the passenger upon
the express condition that they shall not be liable for any injury, damage,
loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason
of defect in any vehicle or through the acts or default of any company or
person engaged in conveying the passenger or in carrying out the arrangements
of the tour, or otherwise in connection therewith, or of any hotel proprietor,
employee, car rental company or other tour participant.
Icelandair and /or its agents can accept no responsibility for losses or accidental expenses due to delay or changes in schedules, sickness, weather, strikes, war, quarantine, or other causes. All such losses or expenses will have to be borne by the passengers.
Icelandair and /or its agents shall not be liable for changes in the published itinerary, whenever in their sole judgment conditions warrant, or if they deem it necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of the passengers, including but not limited to mode of transportation and hotels.
Neither the operators (and/ or their agents) nor the airlines concerned are to be held responsible for lack of snow or non-operation of lifts at ski resorts, or for closure of access routes to or from resorts due to bad weather or road conditions or for other reasons beyond their control, nor are they to be held liable for payment of any refund for unused hotel accommodations or meals occasioned by such late arrivals, the hotel holding rooms as per confirmed itinerary.
The right is reserved to decline to accept or return any person as a member of any tour or to cancel or alter the tour. The airlines and other transportation companies whose services are featured in these tours are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time passengers are not on board their conveyance.
The passage contract in use by this company when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the companies and the purchaser of these tours and/or passage. Tour operators have the right to alter tour itineraries.
All prices are per person quoted in U.S. and Canadian dollars (unless stated otherwise).
All offerings and prices are subject to change and availability at the time of booking and are subject to change at any time without prior notification.
Icelandair maintains this website and other websites that are linked to this site and are subject to the ownership of Icelandair (collectively "the Site") as well as all information, software, photos, text, music, sounds and other materials and services rendered on the Site (collectively "Content"), for the use of members of the general public but only for the lawful purposes described below.
Your attention is brought to the fact that the above does not include the services rendered by Amadeus Global Distribution System S.A. (hereinafter "Amadeus") on Amadeus' websites, or any other material contained on Amadeus' websites.
Acceptance of these terms & conditions; jurisdiction
In exchange for accessing and using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms
& Conditions and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. You
represent and warrant that you have the legal ability to accept these Terms
& Conditions on behalf of yourself or any party you legally represent. If
any provision of these Terms & Conditions is held to be invalid, illegal or
cannot be enforced, such invalidity, illegality or non-enforceability shall not
affect the validity, legality or enforceability of any other provision of these
Terms & Conditions. All exceptions and limitations apply only to the extent
permitted by Icelandic law.
Kindly do not use or browse the Site if you do not agree to these Terms & Conditions. The Site is operated from Icelandair offices in Iceland. By accessing the Site, you agree that the laws of Iceland apply to the Site, the Content, your access, the use of and browsing the Site and all transactions over the Site, and you agree that any dispute or litigation shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the District Court of Reykjavík, or the Supreme Court of Iceland in case of an appeal.
Those who access the Site from other locations do so at their own risk and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws. Icelandair makes no representation that the Content on the Site is appropriate or available for use in locations other than Iceland and all access to it from states or territories where the Content is in any way, illegal. You acknowledge that Icelandair reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse or terminate, without notice, your access to the Site at any time.
Access to information about passengers travelling to the United States
I agree that the personal data, which has been provided to Icelandair in connection with this booking, may be passed to government authorities for border control and aviation security purpose.
Icelandair and other airlines are required by law in the United States to give U.S. Customs and Border Protection access to their booking and travel information. Accordingly, any information we hold about you and your travel arrangements may be disclosed to the U.S. authorities from July 28. 2004. The purpose of this requirement is security.

What data do you hold about me which may be accessed?
We hold data about you which we require for the purpose of conducting business with you. This may include details you have told us about any medical, disability, or health conditions you may have; payment details; contact information; and, any special requirements you have specified.
Who will you pass the data to, and who will they share it with?
The data will be given to the United States Customs and Border Protection authorities. They may share it with other enforcement authorities for the purposes of preventing and combating terrorism and other serious criminal offenses.
What if I refuse you permission to release my data to the authorities?
Then we will be unable to carry you to the U.S.
What will the authorities be using the data for?
Data is used for enforcement purposes, including use in threat analysis to identify and interdict potential terrorists, and other threats to national and public security; and to focus government resources on high risk concerns, thereby facilitating and safeguarding bona-fide travelers.
Are my credit card details included?
If payment has been made by credit card and this data is included in your passenger information record, the authorities may view details.
How long will data be held for?
The authorities should hold the data for no longer than is required.
SUBMISSION OF INFORMATION, ICELANDAIR PROCESSING OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED, AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE INFORMATION THAT ICELANDAIR PROVDES
You agree to grant Icelandair unrestricted and complete license to use all data that you send to the Site, free of charge, but only to the extent that the registration and use of the data are a normal part of Icelandair operations. Icelandair is furthermore permitted to use such data for marketing purposes. This notice shall be deemed to be a warning of such processing. Icelandair makes no guarantees whatsoever about any other websites, which you may access through the Site, but are not operated by Icelandair. Icelandair has no control over the content or arrangement of websites other than its own and cannot be held liable for such websites or any transaction that may be conducted over such websites.
Trademarks, service marks and trade names published on the Site are protected by law in Iceland and internationally. No Icelandair trademark, service mark or trade name may be used without Icelandair or the relevant partner's prior written permission, except for the sole purpose of identifying the company's products or services.
Carriage, other services and products
Carriage by air of passengers, baggage and cargo is subject to the conditions of carriage of the relevant carrier which, in the case of Icelandair, are available from Icelandair agents or sales offices. Other services and products described on the Site are also subject to terms & conditions. Information on such terms & conditions is available from the relevant retailer identified on the Site. Furthermore, note that Icelandair is not liable for the services and products of parties other than Icelandair that are offered on Amadeus' website.
