Natural wonders of Reykjanes
Please note that our volcanic eruption seems to have wound down.
Nevertheless, there will be a guided tour to the area, operated by our partners from Reykjavík Excursions.
On the Volcanic Wonders of Reykjanes Geopark tour you explore the most iconic features of the Icelandic volcanic landscape.
Iceland continues to form and evolve with volcanic eruptions. Our youngest, Fagradalsfjall Volcano, is only in about 40 minutes hike each way. There you will be able to explore the aftermath of this recent volcanic eruption.
For a refresher on the recent eruption in 2021, join local photographer Ása Steinars as she documented the perfect day out from Reykjavík, taking in a hike to our hot new volcanic eruption and a soak in the warm, otherworldly and colorful waters of the Blue Lagoon - bookable as an optional add-on.
There’s a LOT to do in Iceland, so why not add some additional days for exploring the great outdoors? Extend your vacation at the time of booking to stay in Iceland up to 30 nights! Explore more of Reykjavík or head out of the city’s cozy confines to check out Iceland’s breath-taking nature with our numerous tour options. From stunning glacial lagoons to continuing the volcano theme with Lava Tunnel tours, now is the time to head to the Land of Fire & Ice!
