Striking natural wonders and wondrous aurora borealis!

There's no better trip that exemplifies what it means to be "refreshingly Icelandic" than this!

You'll visit the magnificent Golden Circle region, with sites including the majestic waterfall Gullfoss, the Geyser geothermal area, and Iceland’s historical national park, Thingvellir. You’ll also spend an evening with fellow travellers in a search of the Northern Lights throughout the Icelandic countryside. Booking this package also provides free time in Iceland to explore Reykjavík and its surroundings, from enjoying the cosy cafes and lively nightlife, to the cool Nordic culture of Iceland’s capital city. Check out the full itinerary below for further details.

If you choose to book additional nights, you'll be able to explore even further with other unforgettable day tours that bring you to popular destinations like the Blue Lagoon, whale watching, and much more!

Day 1Welcome to Iceland!

Check in at your hotel in Reykjavik and get comfortable for your stay in Iceland. Take a stroll and explore the charm and allure of Old Town Reykjavik and enjoy the Nordic vibe of the town. There's plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from for a bite to eat. Check out one of the many tours available for booking, including whale watching and horse riding.

Day 2Hunt for the northern lights

During the day, use your complimentary entry to the Aurora Reykjavík Northern Lights Centre to discover the auroras through science, stories, and legends from around the world. Then prepare to search for them yourself with the Northern Lights Hunt which takes you to that evening’s best viewing location, as decided by Mother Nature. The Auroras might appear just outside of Reykjavík or perhaps from the middle of a lava field an hour's drive into the countryside. Every tour is unique, which is part of the adventure and your guide will use the most up-to-date weather and solar activity reports to plan your route. Coaches are equipped with free Wi-Fi. Departures range from 9 to 10pm, depending on the time of year, with hotel pick-ups beginning at 30 minutes prior. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and their appearance cannot be guaranteed.

Please Note: On the day of your tour, please check with your hotel reception/tour desk if the tour is operating. If the weather conditions are not favorable and the tour is cancelled, or there are no sightings during the tour, you will be given the option of joining the tour the following night for free (subject to availability). No refunds will be offered for the complimentary Northern Lights Hunt tour included in the package.

Day 3Take a tour of the Golden Circle

Today you venture out on the Golden Circle tour, including a visit to the world-famous Geysir geothermal area, a field where hot springs are in abundance, geysers explode and pools of mud bubble. It also takes you to see Gullfoss, the queen of Iceland's waterfalls. Finally, but no less spectacular is a visit to the Thingvellir National Park, the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world. The Great Atlantic rift is clearly visible in the park, a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates. Hotel pick up at 08:30 hours.

Day 4 (note: you can extend your trip!)Explore more of Iceland

Extend your holiday and have an extra day in Reykjavik or the surrounding area. There is plenty to see and do within the city centre, or you could choose to venture out and experience the breathtaking Icelandic nature for yourself.

Your final dayReturn flight home

Bid farewell to Iceland (for now!) before heading to Keflavik for your return flight home on Icelandair!
