We're saying thank you and farewell to our beloved Hekla Aurora on Sunday, October 12. This aircraft has dazzled travelers for years with the magic of its livery, dressed in the magnificent colors of the northern lights.

The uniquely handpainted Boeing 757 was launched in 2015, and has since offered passengers a one-of-a-kind experience of the aurora borealis, thanks to both its interior mood lighting and its memorable exterior livery.

Hekla Aurora’s farewell flight route is designed with flexibility in mind. We'll work with weather experts to study the day's forecast and cloud cover. We'll fly low over a route that will give passengers optimum visibility, and we’ll fly over some of Iceland's landmark natural wonders.
