Acclaimed Icelandic singer-songwriter and pop artist Bríet has released 'Cowboy Killer', a new song written in Nashville. It's accompanied by a fresh video shot in Music City, the spiritual home of country music.
We partnered with Bríet and Nashville Music City to make some magic happen, and to bring the spirit of Iceland to Tennessee – you can see the results in our behind-the-scenes video, below.
The song explores themes of longing, love, and loss, while realizing that true love may already be lost. To the artist, "Cowboy Killer is about a girl that has it all but only yearns that one person she left behind."
The song is part of the EP 'Bríet – Act 1', a three-part EP series that Bríet has been crafting over the past few years, an ambitious new era that reflects her artistic evolution and global aspirations.
Rest easy: No cowboys were harmed or killed in the making of the song or video! It’s a progression from Bríet's Icelandic song 'Rólegur Kúreki' ('Easy Cowboy') from 2020, and serves as her introduction to the world.
