Updates for trade partners
Below is our policy information for passengers booked on Icelandair during the COVID-19 health crisis. Please be advised the following is subject to change on short notice, and we will update you as promptly as possible as new information becomes available.

Change without a change fee
Until further notice, passengers with new or existing tickets with Icelandair may change their trip without a change fee. The new booking must be at the same fare or higher and any applicable fare and tax difference must be collected at the time of reissue.
Terms:
- This policy applies until further notice.
- Change fee(s) will be waived using the waiver code, but the new booking must be at the same fare or higher, and any applicable fare and tax difference must be collected at the time of reissue.
- Tickets must be rebooked/reissued within the ticket validity (one year from the original date of issue)
- Re-routing is permitted.
How to change your client’s trip:
- Cancel the flight segments in the booking
- Enter into PNR if using Amadeus: RM or OSI: COVID19
- Enter into PNR if using other GDS than Amadeus: SROTHSZZ-WAIVEFICOVID19
- Rebook/reissue the ticket at the same fare or higher Change fee(s) will be waived, but any applicable fare and tax difference must be collected at the time of reissue.
- Tickets must be rebooked/reissued within the original ticket validity (one year from the original date of issue)
- Enter into the endorsement box of the new ticket: WAIVEFICOVID19
Postpone and use the ticket value for future travel
Until further notice passengers with new or existing tickets with Icelandair may postpone their trip and use the full value of the ticket (including government taxes and ancillary services) for future travel. The new booking must be at the same fare or higher and any applicable fare and tax difference must be collected at the time of reissue.
Terms:
- This policy applies until further notice.
- Change fee(s) will be waived using the waiver code, but the new booking must be at the same fare or higher, and any applicable fare and tax difference must be collected at the time of reissue.
- Tickets must be rebooked/reissued within the ticket validity (one year from the original date of issue)
- Re-routing is permitted
- Any DEPO EMD’s issued for travel postponement can only be used for future travel on Icelandair services and is nonrefundable until new tickets have been issued
How to postpone your client’s trip
- Cancel the client's flight segments
- Enter into PNR if using Amadeus: RM or OSI: COVID19
- Enter into PNR if using other GDS than Amadeus: SROTHSZZ-WAIVEFICOVID19
When your clients are ready to rebook:
- Rebook/reissue the ticket at the same fare or higher
- Change fee(s) will be waived, but any applicable fare and tax difference must be collected at the time of reissue.
- Tickets must be rebooked/reissued within the original ticket validity (one year from the original date of issue)
- Enter into the endorsement box of the new ticket: WAIVEFICOVID19
For bookings where the original passengers will not be able to travel:
- Please issue a DEPO EMD in the same booking as the unused tickets for the total value of the unused tickets
- After issuing the EMD please refund the e-tickets (through BSP link or GDS)
- New tickets can be issued and EMD refunded up to one year after the EMD’s date of issue.If EMD needs to be extended, please contact our agent help desk for assistance.
- The EMD can only be used for future travel on Icelandair services and is nonrefundable until new tickets have been issued
- Insert: WAIVEFICOVID19 in the EMD’s RM line
- Please note, the new booking must be at same amount or higher than the EMD
We would also like to notify you of an Amadeus solution for the extending of e-ticket validity due to COVID-19.
- Amadeus has introduced a new solution for airlines allowing e-tickets validity to be automatically extended for up to 2 additional years from date of last flight when that flight was cancelled by FI and with UN in flight status, rebooking must be completed within 1 year from last original flight segment and all travel must be completed within 1 year of reissue date.
- The 2 year additional validity exception is only applicable for bookings with at least one Icelandair flight segment, with travel between 19th April 2020 – 30th June 2021 inclusive.
- Auto pricing will continue to work as normal for all published fares when rebooking, please note Light fares and IT nett fares will need to be repriced manually.
- Any additional fare or tax increase must be collected when e-ticket is reissued.
- This 2-year extension will also apply for associated EMD’s for ancillaries connected to these bookings.

We do apologize that we had to make ad-hoc changes to the flight schedule due to the uncertainties in regards of COVID-19 developments.
We wish to inform you that you have the following options for alternative flights between Europe and Iceland itineraries (not to USA and Canada):
If no alternative flight is provided by Icelandair, the following options can be offered for ticketed PNR:
- Another FI flight within the same zone on the same day
- A Change to another date FI flights only within the same zone
- A flight with FI and SK via CPH, OSL or ARN. Please remember to add the correct OS lines to the reservation
- Hold on to your e-ticket and rebook at a later stage. E-Ticket validity is extended. Please see below information.
- If none of the options provided above are accepted by the customer, a refund can be offered (via GDS)
Rerouting with SK - SAS:
For travel within Europe:
First Travel on/after: 2nd of April 2020
Last Travel on/before: 31st of December 2020
Only for flights between STOCKHOLM (ARN), COPENHAGEN (CPH), OSLO (OSL) and Europe
- Bookings MUST be made using the LOWEST class of service available at the time of rebooking (N and G class not allowed)
- Applicable fares are all published and unpublished fares except ID/AD tickets
- Only valid for tickets issued on FI (108) ticket stock or plated on neutral ticket stock on behalf of FI
- All tickets must be reissued by FI or its appointed agents on FI stock
- Reissued tickets must state „SKCOVDFI20“ in the fare endorsement line
- Please add the following OS lines:
OS SK FI COVID PROTECTION
OS SK CTCP (with customers home/mobile contact number if available)
Reissue Guidelines for Planned Schedule Changes:
- Tickets can be reissued without approval, provided that the conditions of this policy are met. Non-compliance with this policy may result in an ADM.
- Make sure that the correct RBD has been selected before reissue.
- Tickets affected by a schedule change must be reissued as even exchange
- FXI/SC in Amadeus Reservation Desktop
- The first letter of the Fare Calculation line should be S-
- Unless otherwise stated, the first characters of the endorsement (FE) box must state „SKCHG2020“ and affected flight number and date. SKCHG2020 FIXXX(or OAXXX)/DDMMM
- Flights with other carriers may be changed to maintain trip length as long as the origin, destination, RBD, marketing and operating airline remain unchanged. Violation of this may result in an ADM.
- Always rebook within the same cabin and same or lowest available RBD
- If the above conditions are not met the change should be treated as voluntary and fare difference will apply.
- Only a one-time change is allowed. Any further changes will be considered voluntary and should be reissued according to fare rules.
- If a customer is holding two separate tickets, the ticket affected by the Planned Schedule Change must be reissued according to the Planned Schedule Change process. Any other tickets can be changed but fare difference and/or penalty fees may apply.
