Icelandair Expands Service in Vancouver

Quincy, MA, January 22, 2015 – Icelandair is pleased to announce increased frequency to their already extensive schedule, making 2015, the largest network in the airline’s history, even bigger.

As part of Icelandair’s 2015 summer schedule, and as a response to demand following last year’s inaugural service, the airline is adding one weekly flight from Vancouver International Airport. With this additional flight from June 26 – September 19, 2015, Icelandair will now operate three weekly flights offering non-stop service to Iceland and connections to more than 20 destinations in Europe. This new flight, FI696, will depart Fridays from Vancouver at 3:55pm, with arrival at Keflavik International Airport the following morning at 6:00am. Return flight FI697 departs Keflavik at 5:15pm on Thursdays, arriving in Vancouver same day at 5:50pm.

Icelandair’s European destinations will also see a boost from June to September with London Gatwick and Zurich offering 6 flights a week, and Amsterdam and Paris adding wing-to-wing service on Wednesdays and Sundays, respectively.

Icelandair offers service to Iceland from Boston, New York-JFK, Washington, D.C., Seattle, Denver, Toronto and Edmonton, with seasonal service from Newark, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Orlando, Portland, Vancouver, Halifax, and Anchorage. Connections through Icelandair’s hub at Keflavik International Airport are available to more than 20 destinations in Scandinavia, the U.K. and Continental Europe. Only Icelandair allows passengers to take an Icelandair Stopover for up to seven nights at no additional airfare.
