Time to board your Icelandair flight for the overnight to our hub at Keflavík International Airport! Keep your eyes peeled in the winter as you just may see the northern lights dancing beside you!
Check in at your hotel in Reykjavík and get comfortable for your stay in Iceland. Check-in times range between 2 - 3pm, however hotels generally can store your bags while you take a stroll and explore the charm and allure of Old Town Reykjavík and enjoy the Nordic vibe of the world’s northernmost capital. There's plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from for a bite to eat. Check out our wide range of tours and activities, including whale watching and horse riding.
During the day, use your complimentary entry to the Aurora Reykjavík Northern Lights Centre to discover the auroras through science, stories, and legends from around the world. Then prepare to search for them yourself with the Northern Lights Hunt which takes you to that evening’s best viewing location, as decided by Mother Nature. The Auroras might appear just outside of Reykjavík or perhaps from the middle of a lava field an hour's drive into the countryside. Every tour is unique, which is part of the adventure and your guide will use the most up-to-date weather and solar activity reports to plan your route. Coaches are equipped with free Wi-Fi. Departures range from 9 to 10pm, depending on the time of year, with hotel pick-ups beginning at 30 minutes prior. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and their appearance cannot be guaranteed.
Please Note: If your tour is cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions, or your tour operates as scheduled without any northern lights sightings, you have the option of joining the tour the following night for free (subject to availability). If your tour is cancelled due to weather conditions and you’re unable to reschedule, you may request a full refund for the included northern lights tour only.
Today you venture out on the Golden Circle tour, including a visit to the world-famous Geysir geothermal area, a field where hot springs are in abundance, geysers explode and pools of mud bubble. It also takes you to see Gullfoss, the queen of Iceland's waterfalls. Finally, but no less spectacular is a visit to the Thingvellir National Park, the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world. The Great Atlantic rift is clearly visible in the park, a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates. Hotel pick up at 08:30 hours.
Bid farewell to Iceland (for now!) before heading to Keflavik for your return flight home on Icelandair!
