Icelandair starts flying to St Petersburg, Russia
The Icelandair inaugural flight today from St Petersburg marked the beginning of a twice weekly service between Iceland and St. Petersburg on Tuesdays and Saturdays from June 1 to September 17 this year.

The flying time between Reykjavik and St Petersburg is 4 hours. As the time difference is also 4 hours departure in St. Petersburg is at 09:40 and arrival in Iceland is at the same time, 09:40. The flights make excellent one hour connections to Boston and New York. In fact Icelandair offers the fastest flying between St. Petersburg and New York and Boston.
The Icelandair Boeing 757 aircraft offer new interiors, new leather seats, personal in-flight entertainment centres, and easy access to the increasingly popular destination of Reykjavik, Iceland.
“This flight offers Icelandair a new way to serve the growing Russian market both to Iceland and across the Atlantic to North America. At the same time we are opening up St Petersburg as an exciting destination for our international passengers”, says Guðnason.
In addition, Icelandair and Russian carrier Russyia have signed a code-share agreement for the new route, further enhancing the market reach and service offering of both airlines.
