BWI Marshall Airport (BWI) services the Baltimore-Washington DC region – it’s located off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, 9 miles (14.5km) south of downtown Baltimore and 32 miles (51.5km) northeast of Washington DC. The airport is named after Thurgood Marshall, a Baltimore native who became the first African American to serve on the Supreme Court of the USA.
