Travelling with Medical Concerns

If you need further services or special assistance, we are happy to help.

We are pleased to provide assistance to our passengers. If you need special assistance for your journey, please contact our Service Center two business days prior to departure in order to add it to your booking.

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) Machine

CPAP machines are accepted on board. One CPAP machine may be carried in addition to your carry-on baggage allowance.

Your CPAP machine’s make and model must be added to your booking at least two business days prior to departure. Please contact our Service Center to add this to your booking.

If your CPAP machine is battery powered, please note that spare/loose lithium ion batteries must be in cabin baggage (under 100 Wh and up to 160 Wh.) They must be protected from short circuits and must be packaged in a manner that protects them from physical damage. Only two batteries are allowed per passenger if the battery is between 100 Wh and 160 Wh.

Please keep in mind that electrical outlets are not available on all Economy seats and we cannot guarantee that you can plug the device in.

Icelandair cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment on board our aircraft. Therefore we strongly encourage passengers with severe allergies that can result in anaphylaxis to bring an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen®) and any other medications they may need.

Medication

It is always advised to bring medicine in your carry-on baggage, as long as it is within the carry-on size restrictions.

We also recommend having a doctor´s note available for your medicine while travelling.

Please keep in mind that there are no refrigerators available on board, but some ice may be provided if necessary.
