Icelandair Adds Flights to Paris Orly Airport

Quincy, MA, February 3, 2016 – Icelandair will start scheduled flights to Paris Orly Airport (ORY) beginning March 28, 2016, adding to their current Paris schedule at Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).

Icelandair has been flying to Paris, France for more than 40 years, with service originating at Orly and later moving to Charles de Gaulle. This summer, Icelandair will operate 23 weekly flights to Paris, including 17 to Charles de Gaulle, and up to 6 times a week to Orly.

Located just eight miles south of the city, the passenger friendly Orly Airport brings visitors closer to many of Paris’ major tourist attractions, including Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde and Notre Dame. Orly also has access to two RER high-speed metro train lines with improved access to their stations from the airport’s two terminals.

“Orly is a very desirable airport with great connections throughout France and Europe, and a natural fit for North American and European travelers looking for additional options to and from Paris and southern France. We are excited about this new opportunity that will better serve our passengers and further strengthen our global network“, says Birkir Holm Gudnason, Icelandair CEO.

Orly Airport will be Icelandair‘s 27th European destination, in addition to their 16 North American gateways. It is the fourth new airport this year alongside Aberdeen, Chicago and Montreal.

In addition to the new Orly flight, Icelandair has been adding frequency to select destinations, and will add one Boeing 757 aircraft to its fleet, bringing the total to 27 B-757s and 2 B-767s for the summer season.

Icelandair offers service to Iceland from Boston, Chicago-ORD, Denver, Edmonton, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York-JFK, Newark, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington, D.C.; and seasonal service from Anchorage, Halifax, Montreal, Orlando, Portland, OR, and Vancouver, BC. Connections through Icelandair’s hub at Keflavik International Airport are available to more than 20 destinations in Scandinavia, the U.K. and Continental Europe. Only Icelandair allows passengers to take an Icelandair Stopover for up to seven nights at no additional airfare.
