Day 1Are you excited to visit Iceland?

Time to board your Icelandair flight for the overnight to our hub at Keflavík International Airport! Keep your eyes peeled in the winter as you just may see the northern lights dancing beside you!

Day 2Welcome to Iceland!

Check in at your hotel in Reykjavik; standard check-in times in Iceland begin at 2pm. If you arrive prior to your hotel's check-in time, be sure to inquire on arrival if an early check-in is available. If not, hotels generally can store your bags while you take a stroll and explore and enjoy the Nordic vibe of the world’s northernmost capital. There's plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from for a bite to eat. Check out one of the many tours available for booking, including whale watching and horse riding.

Day 3Hunt for the Northern Lights

During the day, take a visit to the Aurora Reykjavík Northern Lights Center (included in your package) to discover the auroras through science, stories, and legends from around the world.

In the evening, you’ll head out on your guided Northern Lights tour. With expert guides using the latest forecasts, you’ll travel to the best locations for sightings whether it’s the countryside, coastline, or a lava field. Coaches are equipped with free Wi-Fi. Departures range from 9 to 10pm, depending on the time of year, with hotel pick-ups beginning at 30 minutes prior. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and their appearance cannot be guaranteed.

Please Note: If your tour is cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions, or your tour operates as scheduled without any northern lights sightings, you have the option of joining the tour the following night for free (subject to availability). If your tour is cancelled due to weather conditions and you’re unable to reschedule, you may request a full refund for the included northern lights tour only.

Day 4Take a tour of the Golden Circle

Spend a full day touring the Golden Circle, Iceland’s most popular sightseeing route. Visit Gullfoss waterfall, marvel at erupting geysers in the Geysir area, and walk through Þingvellir National Park, where tectonic plates meet. The day also includes a stop at Friðheimar greenhouse, where you’ll experience Iceland’s unique approach to geothermal agriculture.

Day 5Optional: Add a day to explore more of Iceland

Not ready to go home? If you want to extend your nothern lights break or long weekend, you can add an extra day in Reykjavík or South Iceland. From lava horseback riding to glacier walks and whale watching – there’s plenty to keep you entertained! So much so you can extend your vacation for up to 30 days.

Your final dayFarewell (for now)

It’s time to head back to Keflavík Airport for your return flight with Icelandair. We hope you’ve enjoyed your Golden Circle and Northern Lights vacation and look forward to welcoming you onboard again soon.
