Icelandair Increases Flights to New York this Autumn
Icelandair has decided to increase its flight schedule to and from New York in the autumn due to high demand, adding three flights per week from 20 September to early November.
“We are systematically developing our operation and travel services outside the high season and take opportunities to grow when they present themselves. We recently announced additional flights to London next winter, and now it’s New York. We are responding to the demand for both travel to and from Iceland, as well as travel between Europe and North America with stopovers here in Iceland, e.g. between the Nordic countries and New York,” says Birkir Hólm Guðnason, CEO of Icelandair.
Icelandair currently flies from the UK to New York 14 times a week in the high summer season and 7 times a week during the low season. Next autumn, three weekly flights will be added, making it 10 flights per week to New York from 20 September to 5 November. There will be two afternoon flights from Keflavík Airport to New York on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays during this period, with 15 minutes between departures.
In addition to New York, Icelandair flies from the UK to Reykjavik, Boston, Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Washington, Orlando, Toronto.
