The major airports in Iceland are:

Keflavík is the main international airport, and the arrival point for most international travelers to Iceland.
To reach domestic airports around the country, travelers may need to transfer between Keflavík and Reykjavík airports. Please check your booking and ticket details carefully.
Do I need to transfer between Keflavík and Reykjavík airports?
Those traveling to Iceland from Europe, North America, and Greenland will land at Keflavík International Airport.
Passengers traveling onward domestically within Iceland must first transfer from Keflavík to Reykjavík Domestic Airport.
How to transfer between Keflavík International and Reykjavík Domestic Airports
The distance between Keflavík International Airport and Reykjavík Domestic Airport is 50km (30 miles).
Please note that all travelers transferring between the two airports should:
- Collect any checked luggage from the baggage belt in Keflavík and take it with them to the domestic airport in Reykjavík to be re-checked in.
- Leave plenty of time to transfer between the two airports. Travelers can either transfer by bus or take a taxi between airports. Travel time is dependent on many factors, including the time of day, traffic and road conditions. Passengers should allow roughly 90 minutes for transferring by bus, and about 60 minutes for transferring by taxi or private car.
The same also applies to returning flights. Baggage needs to be collected at Reykjavík airport before being re-checked in at Keflavík airport, and travelers should allow sufficient time to travel between the two airports.

Our domestic flights in Iceland are operated on Bombardier aircraft. Due to their smaller size, the service on board is limited as compared to that on board some of the other aircraft in our fleet, including the larger Boeing aircraft that connect Iceland with Europe and North America.
However, we do offer several different fare categories on domestic flights in Iceland, so travelers can choose the option that suits them best.
Baggage allowances for Icelandair's domestic flights are the same as for international flights, with some restrictions placed on hand luggage due to smaller overhead compartments.
