How to get to Greenland

To fly to Greenland from the US, you will first need to land at Iceland's Keflavík International Airport (KEF)

Passengers must then transfer from Keflavík to Reykjavík Airport (RKV)* – a distance of 50km (31 miles).

Remember to pick up your baggage at Keflavík airport and take it with you as you transfer to Reykjavík airport.

Transfer options include bus and taxi. Allow around 90 minutes for bus transfer, and about 60 minutes by taxi or private car.

The same also applies for returning flights. Collect your baggage at Reykjavík airport before transferring to Keflavík for your flight home, and allow enough time to travel between the 2 airports.

* NOTE: From June 1, 2022, Icelandair flights to Nuuk and Ilulissat will depart from and arrive at Keflavík International Airport (KEF), not Reykjavík Airport (RKV). Flights to Kulusuk and Narsarsuaq will continue to use Reykjavík Airport.
